Actions
- Produced the Bella Joy Gardens Memorial – A collaborative event that celebrated the life of Isabella Joy Thallas whose life was tragically taken by gun violence in Denver, summer 2020. Bella Joy Gardens is a renovated park dedicated to healing and hope in Denver.
- Produced Pray On MLK Denver, a local prayer gathering in collaboration with the national “Pray On MLK” movement sponsored by Civil Righteousness to stand together in unity to form a nationwide, multi-ethnic prayer chain to break the chains of racism and injustice.
- Developed an affordable housing campaign and produced an important advocate story highlighting the injustice and humanity of our neighbors who are living on the streets
- Produced a video and multimedia website for the Facing Homelessness Campaign
- Produced two public forums on affordable housing and homelessness in partnership with the Incarnational Leadership Initiative and Creative Mornings
Result
The Public Peace Initiative is positioning itself to be the principal convener, collaborator, and bridge builder for peacemaking initiatives in Denver metro communities.
