Project Worthmore {Burmese Art Program}

Last year at this time I launched a campaign with the Art & Justice League to enter the GOOD Magazine Competition to win $5,000 for a Burmese Refugee Art Program. Those who know me might remember it? Probably because I definitely asked you to vote – We barely lost that competition by 10 votes, but the conversation hasn’t stopped and now this summer I will be executing an Art Pilot Program with Project Worthmore – who run a welcome program for Burmese refugees. The program will consist of five high school students from Valor Christian Academy and five Burmese high school students to engage in an arts program focused on cultrual exchange, Identity, and friendship. This is an excellent opportunity for Project Worthmore to provide space for Burmese kids to build friendships outside of the Burmese community and engage in enriching activity over the summer. If all goes well we may see this program expand to serve more refugee kids of all ages!
